Introducing the New Dybles Dog
Our mission to find the perfect pooch in Winchester
Do you recognise the Dybles dog from our advertising campaigns around Winchester? We’ve had kittens, foxes and even a peacock but the Dybles dog has always been the most popular. We’re not surprised, we love our dogs in this city.
Ever since we introduced him, we’ve had a steady stream of local pet owners popping in, proclaiming their pup cuter than ours. So we thought it was about time we gave you the chance to prove it! So, back in March we started the search for the next face of Dybles. Sponsored by our friends at Happy Hounds and Halo Belts UK, we asked you to send us pictures of your pets for the chance to win a host of goodies.
Within the first day we’d had 60 entrants! By the close of the competition we’d had over 15o hopefuls sending us their pictures. To say the choice was hard, would be an understatement. From pampered poodles to muddy mongrels, we had every type of dog you could imagine enter!
It took nearly a week, but we finally managed to whittle it down to one. One of our smallest entrants who made a big impression – Mr Scruff.
So we headed off on a rainy Saturday morning to Monitoba photography studio just outside of Winchester. Armed with two tennis balls, a bag full of treats and a very happy pup, we set to work.
Mr Scruff turned out to be a natural… with the help of a treat or two of course!
Next was the day Mr Scruff had been waiting for – time for his hard earned prizes. We made sure to have some human treats on hand too, courtesy of the amazing Really Yummy cakes. Based in the middle of Badger Farm, Liz’s cupcakes really do live up to their name!
Our amazing local Winchester sponsors: Halo Belts UK, who gave Mr Scruff one of their brilliant LED rechargeable dog collars and Happy Hounds, Winchester’s number 1 dog walking service, were on hand with their own furry friends. The lovely team at Happy Hounds provided a Hamper jam packed full of goodies which they sell from their Chilcomb dog daycare centre. They also gave Mr Scruff vouchers to join the Happy Hounds gang for a taste of their doggy adventures, so watch this space for his Hampshire exploits.
Have you walked past our Southgate Street office and seen Mr Scruff up in the window? Watch out for his campaigns around Winchester this year.
And was Mr Scruff happy to be named Dybles Dog 2017? Judging by his reaction, we’d say so!
