Celebrating ten years on Southgate Street

2013 - Present

January 2023 marks the 10 year anniversary since we opened the doors to our first office on Southgate Street in Winchester. At Dybles, we consider our office to be our home and our team to be our family.  In January 2013 we opened our doors, armed with nothing more than big ambitions and a strong ethos.

Fast forward to 2019… our team had become significantly larger. Like any growing family, we needed more space. Our move didn’t take us far and our dream new home was only three doors away.  Armed with a lot more experience and even more ideas, we were keen to put our stamp our new office.  With a simple brief of ‘minimal, bold and unique,’ our design team created a super flexible space to promote our company culture and stand out from the crowd.

We love being one of the independent businesses on Southgate Street, and the best part of it is, every day we get to look three doors down to see our first home where Dybles began. Who knows what the next ten years will bring…

We take a look back at Southgate Street over the last century.

In the 1920s the corner of Southgate Street and Winchester High Street looked very different, with the Black Swan Hotel taking the prominent corner position.

Work begins to demolish The Black Swan Hotel (on the left in the photo), which was later replaced with Black Swan Buildings in 1935.

Dybles arrived on Southgate Street in 2013. A purple breath of fresh air.

In 2019, we moved three doors up the road to our current home at number 4 Black Swan Buildings, Southgate Street.
