New and expectant parents flock to NCT Winchester's latest event
At the end of April, over 200 new and expectant parents flocked to the Nearly New Sale held at the Badger Farm Community Centre in Winchester.
“Over the last few years, we have proudly supported NCT Winchester and it’s brilliant to see such a big turnout for this event… raising almost £6,000 for a great cause” — Mike Dyble, Owner & Founder.
With more than 5,000 items available, including a vast array of baby and toddler clothes, toys, and equipment, the sale saw nearly £6,000 worth of goods sold. Unlike other second-hand children’s sales, NCT Nearly New Sales boast items of 'nearly new' quality, meticulously checked by volunteers on the day. Items were also thoughtfully arranged into accessible categories, simplifying the shopping experience for customers.
A small committee, along with a dedicated team of 40 volunteers, collaborated to set up the event. Sarah Crisp, the sale coordinator at NCT Winchester & District, expressed her joy over the sale's success: “We’re delighted that our Nearly New Sale was such a huge success. Local families snapped up some real bargains while supporting NCT’s vital charity work in Winchester and surrounding areas. Our volunteers made it a great event, and it was also a fantastic opportunity to meet other parents from the area.”
The funds raised from the NCT Nearly New Sale will be used to support parents, fund helplines, and offer local services such as baby first aid courses, breastfeeding support, a reusable nappy library, and baby bundles for local parents in need.
The next Nearly New Sale is scheduled for Sunday 13 October, at the Badger Farm Community Centre from 1pm to 3pm. NCT members will have early access to the sale starting at 12:45 pm. For more information on how to become a seller or volunteer, visit the NCT website below.
