Winchester gets 2nd place on the list of the UK’s strongest local economies.

It’s nice to hear some positive news amongst all the doom and gloom surrounding coronavirus. Winchester has landed at 2nd place on the list of the UK’s strongest local economies.

Large numbers of independent businesses and a high likeliness to weather the storm post-COVID are factors that have boosted Winchester to 2nd place on the list.

As an independent business (surrounded by dozens of great independents on our street alone), it’s great to hear that we are having a positive impact on the local economy during this turbulent time.

Our economy index includes the number of businesses based in a particular region, the growth of those businesses, and the percentage of locals in employment. This allows us to see which area of the UK stands the best chance of post-Covid recovery.
